Setting

Hook is played either on a basketball court, 5 vs 5, or on a handball/futsal court, 7 vs 7.

It is possible to play on a half court in both versions, with respectively 2v2 and 3v3 settings.

Objective of the Game

The winning team is the one that scores the most points.

Scoring

Points are scored by throwing the flying ring onto the hook.

2 points are awarded for each successful shot.

Match Duration

A match consists of two 20-minute halves.

The team designated to start begins play with a pass from its own zone.

Movement and Passing

A player may not take more than three steps while holding the flying ring.

Once in possession of the ring, a player may use one foot as a pivot and move the other foot as many times as desired.

The pivot may be used before, during, or after the three permitted steps.

Contact

It is forbidden to make contact with any opponent, nor to touch the ring while it is in an opponent’s hand.

Fouls

In the event of contact, the referee may call a foul.

If the foul occurs during a hook shot attempt, possession of the ring is returned to the team that had possession.

If the foul is committed against a player attempting to score with a hook shot, two free throws from the end line are awarded. Each successful free throw scores one point.
